One of the most populated areas of East Prykarpattia is Drohobych-Boryslav Agglomeration.

Located on the foothills of the Ukrainian Carpathians in Lviv Oblast, is inhabited by approximately 237 200 people and covers an area of 1365 km ².

Metropolitan Division

Administratively Drohobych-Boryslav agglomeration is divided into:
• 4 cities: Drohobych / Дрогобич, Boryslav / Борислав, Truskavets / Трускавець, Stebnyk / Стебник;
• 1 urban village-type: Skhidnycia / Східниця;
• 1 region: Drohobycz region / Drohobych District.
These village form an integral, densely built-up, urbanized area and are strongly linked economically and culturally. This is due to the common labor market. Developed in the mining industry, chemical and construction machinery (Drohobych, Boryslav, Stebnyk) and tourism sector (balneology resorts Truskavets and Schidnycia).

The center of the greater

Functions of a metropolitan city full Drohobych, which is an important industrial center and the seat of Drohobycz Pedagogical University named Ivan Franko.
In the near future, in view of the rapid sprawl Schidnyci, it is possible to give the city municipal rights and change of status in terms of subordination. At present Schidnycia is subordinate to the Executive Committee of the City Council Borysławskiej.
