MUZEUM ZIEMI DROHOBYCKIEJ

Orthodox Church. Yura in Drohobych: derived from the the turn of the 15TH and 16TH centuries. It is located in Drohobych at ul. Sołonyj Stawok 23.

Orthodox Church. Jura in Drohobych, sometimes referred to as "St. of Yuriy"— is a wooden Tserkva in Drohobych and one of the most valuable monuments of sacred architecture of the wooden Earth drohobyckiej and Lviv. The object is from the turn of the 15TH and 16TH centuries and originally was located in the village Nadiejewo – How do you move in 1656 year. In 1670 next to the Orthodox Church was erected the Tower free. In the period from the 17TH to the 20TH century has been remontowana, while maintaining the original style. The last time it maintained in years 1974-1975.
The Church is built entirely of wood. This is the valve design, the nave on the square. Of the three components of the building: vestibule, nave and presbytery are located cebulaste domes. After the two sides of the nave, wooden chapels are situated side by kopułami similar to those appearing on the main bryłą object. The whole object is covered with shingles huculskim.
The Interior Of The Orthodox Church of Saint. Jura, It is richly decorated with frescoes made by a team of artists under the direction of Stefan Medickiego. The same author has richly chiseled iconostasis, in which they show icons depicting St. Paul and St. of Yuriy.
Today the Church is available to visiting and photographing.
